Renée Oberdorf is a mixed media artist based in eastern Washington state. She holds an M.F.A. in Fine Art (1984) with a concentration in sculpture. She studied with Douglas Holmes, Stephen DeStaebler, and Kathy Goodell. She also completed graduate work in clinical psychology.
Renée returned to art full time in 2019 after twenty-five years in a different creative endeavor: running a small farm where she grew salad mixes for pioneering chefs in Portland, Oregon. She maintained an art studio throughout, and took workshops in winter while the farm rested. Since returning to art, she's taken workshops with Jeffrey Hirst, Paula Roland, Nicholas Wilton, Rebecca Crowell, and Jerry McLaughlin.
Renée’s work has been shown in galleries in the San Francisco Bay Area; Portland, Oregon; Chicago, Illinois; and Spokane, Washington. Her painting "Balanced in Tulum" was juried into the 2024 Cold Wax International Exhibition.
