“Process saves us from the poverty of our intentions.”

-Elizabeth King, Sculptor

I create abstract paintings through layered processes that evoke a sense of history. Working intuitively, I balance spontaneity with intention—allowing chance to shape the work before refining it later. My process, much like improvisational music or dance, demands presence and responsiveness, and serves as a form of meditation.

Influenced by the landscapes of my life—from the desert of my childhood to the greens and blues of the Pacific Northwest—as well as my studies in psychology and philosophy, my work explores memory, emotion and the unknown. I primarily work in acrylics, drawing media, and collage.
